DESCRIPTION:
The original two-story commercial-office building was severely damaged by a fire. It was completely gutted and re-built with a new structural system including steel braced frames, wood shear walls, masonry unit shear walls, and a new foundation with only the building front wall being salvaged. The new 22,000 s.f. building provides office spaces, conference rooms, and an interior courtyard. New front and side entrances were created for ADA compliance. New sidewalk and parking lot were partially retained by a new retaining wall supported by concrete piers.
BASELINE was retained to provide both civil and structural engineering services for this project.
